After preventing the murder of Nora Allen, Barry returns with Eobard Thawne to the present and imprisons him in a cage that dampens his speed. In the new timeline, which Eobard dubs "Flashpoint", both of Barry's parents are alive; Joe has a poor relationship with Wally and Iris and is chronically in trouble at work; Cisco is a billionaire tech-magnate; and Caitlin is a pediatric ophthalmologist. There is also a new Flash in Central City called Kid Flash struggling with his own nemesis, Edward Clariss, known as "The Rival". Barry begins losing his memories of the original timeline, which Eobard reveals is the result of the new timeline becoming permanent. After discovering Kid Flash is Wally, Barry teams up with him and stops Clariss, but not before Wally is critically injured. Cobblepot's term as mayor starts off well, but a new Red Hood Gang appears and openly challenges his authority. Nygma discovers that Butch is behind the new gang, as part of a scheme to make himself Cobblepot's right-hand man again. At a celebratory party in the mayor's honor, Nygma manipulates Butch into exposing himself as the mastermind behind the Red Hoods, thus reinforcing his own position as Cobblepot's most trusted friend and ally. Meanwhile, Barnes asks Thompkins about the tests on Alice Tetch's blood, without revealing that he was exposed to it. At Gordon's suggestion, Bruce tells Selina how he feels about her, but she dismissively tells him that he only feels that way because because he's never dated anyone. Bruce tells her he knows how he feels and that she feels the same way and she kisses him. After their encounter with one another, Five assists Selina in robbing a bar but she is captured and then rescued by Five, who demonstrates extraordinary fighting abilities. However, he is stabbed and Selina notices the scars on his body, immediately identifying him as an imposter. When speaking with each other, Selina tells Five that he is more normal than he thinks and they kiss. Meanwhile, Jervis takes over a makeshift amusement park and hypnotizes a group of wrestlers known as the Tweedle Brothers to work for him. Gordon still finds himself under Jervis' influence when he nearly kills himself upon hearing a clock-like sound effect. Jervis and the Tweedle Brothers break into the GCPD and kidnap Alice. Two are killed and one is captured and Gordon is nearly forced to kill himself. Barnes has him put under suicide watch but Bullock frees Gordon and they track down Jervis. Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) demonstrates his powerful skills of hypnosis in a performance at Barbara and Tabitha's nightclub. He visits Gordon and offers him a big reward if he finds his sister Alice (Naian Gonzalez Norvind). Meanwhile, Penguin decides to run for mayor to clean up the corrupt system led by Mayor James. To aid with his campaign, he has Edward Nygma declared legally sane and released from Arkham. Selina asks Bruce for help locating Ivy but it leads to an argument. While following a lead for Alice, Gordon is confronted by men and hit on the head, causing him to need stitches. At the hospital he is stitched up by Lee's new fiancé Mario (James Carpinello). Barnes attempts to convince Lee to return to the GCPD but she requests time to think about it. When Gordon encounters Alice she tells him that she wants nothing to do with her brother and then runs off. Bruce is brought before the leader of the Court, a woman named Margaret, whom he recognizes from various Wayne functions. He is ordered to cease his investigations into them, Wayne Enterprises, Indian Hill, and the deaths of his parents, to which he obliges in exchange for the lives of those closest to him. Ivy washes ashore as a grown woman. Fish captures Bullock and uses her powers to make him lead her to the secret facility holding Strange. Gordon makes a deal with Fish to help her escape with Strange if she hands over Harvey. Gordon informs Penguin of her escape route. Penguin prepares to kill her but, when she reveals that she let him live because he was her greatest creation, he lets her go. The mob breaks into the facility and kills some of Fish's monsters. Gordon, with the help of enthusiastic reporter Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung), tracks down Strange's assistant Ethel Peabody, but she is captured and killed by Fish. A suspicious Ivy spies on them and is caught.
